Coffee Espresso Machine

Coffee Espresso Machine

Would be like if it didn't have an espresso machine? The famous coffee spot just wouldn't seem the same. So, where did this machine originate from and who do we thank for this convenience of "foam" coffee? An espresso is nothing more then coffee that is brewed by mixing hot water with ground up coffee beans. Believe it or not, the coffee espresso machine has been in existence for almost 100 years.
The first official coffee espresso machine comes to us from France. It was created by a gentleman named Louis Bernard Rabaut in 1822. The machine was a simple contraption that allowed steam and water to flow through a filter lined with fresh coffee beans. Mr. Edward Loy Sel de Santias showed his version of the espresso machine at the Paris Exposition in 1855. He impressed the crowd by being able to brew up 2,000 cups of what was then called fast coffee in an hour.
Luiggi Bezzera of Italy brought his espresso machine into the lime light in 1901. His machine served the same purpose of Rabauts invention which was created 79 years earlier.
In 1903, Desiderio Pavani purchased Bezzera's patent and La Pavoni machines were introduced to the U.S. in 1927. Americans gawked over this fast foam coffee. The taste however was another story. The steam and boiled water gave coffee a burnt flavor.
That changed with the invention of a spring lever for the machine. The purpose of the spring lever enabled the machine to able to apply pressure to the beans. Applying this pressure to the beans instead of simply adding boiling water improved the taste immensely.
M. Faema added the final touched to the espresso machine in 1961. By bringing in a source of electricity and creating the electric pump, the transformation of the espresso machine from its early origins was completed. In 1991 Americans got to truly enjoy the espresso machine, when they were placed on shelves for sale to use in your own home.
The next time that you get that good old cup of of espresso or cappuccino in the morning just take a second and reminisce. Try to envision the pioneers whose inventions paved the way to make a simple cup of cafe latte possible. It's hard to think about all the hard work and effort that is put into one simple cup of coffee.
A good deal of dedication and discipline was put into play to allow this simple creation to evolve into what it is today. The final result has triggered an American favorite as evidenced by the numerous specialty coffee bars springing up everywhere. We now can enjoy this delicious crema coffee all at the push of a button.

Best Home Coffee Machine

Best Home Coffee Machine

Getting that fresh morning coffee hit in your very own kitchen has never been easier. But which is the best home coffee machine for you? There are so many on the market now that making a decision can be really difficult.
Three Things to Consider Before Buying a Coffee Machine
• Does it froth milk and make espresso coffee at the same time? You’ll find it less frustrating if you don’t have to wait ages for the machine to heat up to steam again after brewing.
• Don’t be talked into making your first machine an expensive one. Espresso macines give you a lot of value at the cheaper end of the market, so use them to learn and then move onto a more expensive model if you want to.
• Does it have programmable buttons? This is so you can set the levels of the espresso shot to the optimal 25ml, and let it do the work.
CafCoffees at Home
Enrolling in a barista course is a great investment and cuts out a lot of frustration. It will also ensure that you can get the most out of your new home coffee machine (and impress your friends). Surf the net for coffee schools in your area.
Grind your own coffee beans for pure freshness, but avoid cheap grinders with single blades (such as a food processor). They chop the bean rather than grind it. Look for a grinder that lets you adjust the grind size. For best results, keep your beans in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
Try Making These Coffees
Once you have your coffee machine home and set up, have fun brewing a few of these:
• Latte – a shot of espresso, steamed milk almost to the top of the cup and a small layer of milk froth
• Cappuccino – this is similar to a latte but has a more generous layer of milk froth
• Long black – a shot of espresso and the rest of the cup filled with hot water
• Macchiato – a shot of espresso with just a drop of milk and froth. Macchiato is Italian for ‘marked’.
• Flat white – a shot of espresso mixed with two thirds of hot milk with no froth.
• Short black – this is also known as an Espresso, it is simply a straight shot of espresso served in a small cup. It is very popular in Europe.
• Double espresso – two shots of espresso served with no milk or froth
• Affogato – a delicious dessert you will be able to make at home by placing one or two scoops of vanilla ice cream into a bowl and pouring a shot of espresso over the top
